remover, verb:
to stir; to turn over; to poke
Remover has three main meanings, all connected with changing the position of something, Referring to a liquid, it means to stir:
Removía el azúcar en la pequeña taza de café.
She stirred the sugar in the little coffee cup.
Remover la tierra refers to turning over or digging up the soil. Remember that the -o- of the infinitive changes to -ue in some cases:
La pala mecánica remueve la tierra.
The power shovel turns over the earth.
You also use remover to talk about raking over or bringing up the past:
No me voy a dedicar a remover el pasado.
I’m not going to go in for raking over the past.
